Cheap manufactured waste strikes again

In the last year, shopping sites such as TEMU and SHEIN have surfaced, selling products at seemingly impossibly low prices. Some of the products are downright fake or have shipping and quality issues, particularly knockoffs of tech and fashion products. However, they have taken off so much that Amazon had to launch their competitor, Amazon Haul.

The service is still in beta, but all products are under $20. In the announcement, Amazon highlighted phone cases for under $2, and jewelry for $3. Amazon offers free shipping on orders over $25, however, orders can take up to two weeks to arrive.

While these are significantly less expensive than regular products, there are major concerns with the quality of the products. A lot of it could be called “manufactured waste”. I recommend sticking to known quality brands. They may be more expensive than offers from Haul or TEMU, but they will last you significantly longer.
